We moved in to our place about 3 weeks ago. I took a bath that night and let Amber know we do not have any hot water. So she told her boss (who is the landlord for all KLC housing) and then called maintenance... That week they came and they worked on it, still wasn't working. The next week the head plumber guy came, and he was pissed because we've gone 6 days without hot water. So he did what he could do... on thursday that week he told me he had replaced every part he could replace. The next day he came to check it, still wasn't working. So he said we are going to get a new water heater and personally install it.
Mind you, the week before I was told by one of the plumbers that there is a new one in storage and we are getting in. Well Ed (the main plumber guy) said there wasn't one in storage and that he is going to make sure they order one.
So we come to this week, still no hot water or new heater. Ed kept stopping by just to let us know that he keeps bugging management, he was angry that we still didn't have hot water. But finally, yesterday it came. After 3 weeks Ed was able to install our new heater. He finally found out what was wrong with the other one... The thermometer inside it was filled with so much sediment that it couldn't properly register the temperature ad kick on when it needed too. He also found out that it was almost 15 years old, not a couple years old like he thought.
And while they we fixing the water heater I had a very fun day with Olivia- thats sarcasm... We've been letting her wear underwear for the last 2 weeks to potty train her and get her ready for preschool. Yesterday, she messed every single one of her underwears- in like a 3 hour period. I keep telling her tha if she has to go, to use her potty. To make matters worse the plumbers were here so I couldn't wash any laundry till after they left. I just hope she gets the hang of it before too soon, or she can't go to preschool.
After the plumbers left, I washed our dishes, did laundry, we all took warm baths last night. It was great.

Good Things are Happening!
Last week Amber, Olivia and I moved into our new apartment. After bunking with family for the past 10 years, we finally have a space all our own. It really is the best feeling- to know there's a place that is yours. There is an extra room, which is just a storage right now but soon will become my office. Olivia even has her own room, which she loves. Amber let her pick out her own bed set and she picked a really cute black/white/pink Minnie Mouse set. Amber and I decided that we'll live up here at the Grand Canyon for a couple more years, then move- hopefully back to Prescott.
Olivia decided last week that she doesn't want to wear diapers anymore. We've been having a fun time with that. Shes growing up... and this summer they want her to start preschool. I'm so excited for her. We love her so much. She really is our greatest achievement.
I read an article last week about common myths about Dads. One that really stuck with me is the myth that Dads need to be a tough, stern disciplinary figure. A study was done about this and the overwhelming majority of kids would associate their dad with play time. Children were seen smiling real big and tensing up because they knew their dad would play with them.
This is something I have always worried about (ask Amber), how my kids would see me. But I know Olivia loves me, she loves to climb on my back, and play Hide... I love her so much.

Sorry... update over due
I realise I have not updated this in a while, things have been going on. We thought we were going to have to move out of the Grand Canyon so we have been looking at other options. Well awhile back Amber got hired at the Kaibab Learning Center, a Preschool/daycare. KLC is a non-profit, not owned by Xanterra or Delaware North (the two main Companies here), and they do offer housing. Howeer at the time of Amber's hiring there were no apartments available. In the past 2 weeks several people have quit KLC s Amber asked right away about housing and yes, there is a 2 bedroom available for us. We had to wait for one person to leave, so another person can move out of the 2 bed to take the 3 bed... but after next week we should be settled in our own apartment.
Amber and I will finally have our own place, a place that we an make into our own home. We have been talking about this for awhile now- that if we do get housing here and since she likes her job We may stay longer than a year or two up here. I will most likely apply at Northern Arizona University to work on getting my bachelors degree in Paralegal studies and also work on getting hired as a paralegal.
For us- things seem to be coming together. I'm optimistic about our future.
